Abstract

Keywords: Islamic ethics and akhlak, short story, Malin Kundang Short stories are literary works that are of great interest to the public and schoolchildren, because short stories present interesting stories for their readers, and also don't take long to read them. Of the various kinds of short stories the most interesting is "Malin Kundang". In Malin Kundang's short story, it can be taken as research material, namely the Islamic ethics/akhlak of the main character. The researcher has two problem formulations. First, is there any Islamic ethics and akhlak contained in Malin Kundang's short story? Second, what Islamic ethics and akhlak are contained in Malin Kundang's short story? The purpose of this research is to identify the ethics and akhlak contained in the Malin Kundang short story and to analyze the ethics and akhlak on Malin Kundang short story on the perspective of Islamic Ethic. This research is a library research using descriptive analysis method. Researchers used a sociological perspective approach with data sources obtained through Malin Kundang's short story as the object of research. Researchers used Malin Kundang's short story as primary data and obtained secondary data from several books, journals, the internet, and other references. The results of this study has found that there 35 data. First, the researcher found 9 data on Islamic ethics contained in Malin Kundang's short stories and 18 data of akhlak mahmudah and 8 data of akhlak madzmumah.
