Abstract

ABSTRACT Faisul Bahri, 2020, Building the Religious Character of Students Through AlQur'an Literacy Completion Program in SDN Kowel 1 Pamekasan and SDIT Al-Azhar Kowel Pamekasan, Thesis, Graduate Program of Islamic Education, IAIN Madura, Advisors: Dr. H. Mohammad Kosim, M.Ag, and Dr. Hj, Mariatul Qibtiyah. H. AR, M.Ag. Keywords: Building, Religious Character, Al-Quran Literacy Completion The religious character was very necessary to be instilled in students because by having a religious character, students could become better people than before because with a religious character, all behaviors carried out by students should be based on the command of the almighty God, namely Allah SWT. In this study, there were 3 main research focuses. First, How is the implementation of Al-Quran Literacy Completion (QLC) at SDN Kowel 1 Pamekasan and SDIT Kowel 1 Pamekasan?, Second, how is the instillment of the religious character in students through Al-Quran Literacy Completion (QLC) in SDN Kowel 1 Pamekasan and SDIT Kowel 1 Pamekasan? Third, what were the supporting and inhibiting factors in the instillment of Religious Characters in Students Through the Al-Quran Literacy Completion (QLC) at SDN Kowel 1 Pamekasan and SDIT Kowel 1 Pamekasan? This study used a qualitative approach to the type of comparative research in which data collection was done through observation and field documentation. The results of the research from the first focus is that from the two institutions, the adoption was carried out both in the classroom and in the mushalla, where students were required to read short surahs before starting lessons in class, then activities in the mushalla were filled with reading surah Yasin and guidance on Al-Quran literacy. While the result of the second focus is habituating to recite prayers before reading short surahs, doing regular activities in the mushalla, and requiring students to read short surahs when there were religious events at school. The results of the research from the third focus is that the supporting factors were the existence of support from schools, headmaster, and teachers.
