Abstract
Keywords: Animation Video, Vocabulary Learning, Hotel Transylvania. Vocabulary is a very important component to use when learning a language especially when learning a foreign language and is the basis for how students are able to speak well, listen, read, and write. Therefore, teachers should use vocabulary learning media creatively, so that it becomes more meaningful to attract students to learn it. Animated video is a sequence of frames that, when played in frames with sufficient speed, can present a smooth moving image like a film or video. Animation can be interpreted by animate images, so it is necessary to know for sure every detail of the character, starting from the front view (front, back, and side) the details of the character's face in various expressions (normal, silent, angry, smiling, laughing, annoyed and others) then pose/style characteristic of the character when doing certain activities that characterize the character. Hotel Transylvania is an American 3D computer-animated film produced by Sony Pictures, and directed by Derek Drymon and Jennifer Kluska. Cast: Adam Sandler; Andy Samberg; Selena Gomez; Kevin James; Fran Dresch. The Hotel Transylvania film tells the story of Dracula or vampires, but it is packaged in a funny way, so that children can enjoy it without feeling tense watching it. There are two research focuses in this study. First, how is the use of video animation transylvanian hotel season 4 for the vocabulary mastery of class VIII students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Tampojung Tengah? Second, what are the benefits of watching the animated video transylvania hotel season four about vocabulary mastery for grade VIII students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Tampojung Tengah? This study uses a qualitative approach, and the type of research is descriptive. Researchers used three types of data collection, namely field observations (Madrasah Tsanawiyah Tampojung Tengah), interviews with teachers and students, and documentation. The data analysis used by the researcher is data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions/verification. The triangulation technique was used by researchers to check the validity of the data. After analyzing the data, the researcher finally found a medium used by the teacher, namely animated videos. The media used by teachers at Mts Tampojung Tengah. The animated video can help teachers and students in carrying out learning, stimulate creativity and enthusiasm for student learning. Therefore, researchers conclude related to the findings. The teacher explained that using animated videos as learning media is suitable for use in any learning because it can increase students' interest in learning so students don't feel bored.
