Abstract

Keywords: student activity in using the discovery model method Discovery model is the method used by the second grade teacher at MA Babus salam of Sampang. This method is used to measure the activeness of students in learning English and being able to understand about learning English. So that with this method students can be creatively active in the classroom, and for mutual collaboration between students and other students. So it can be concluded that the discovery model is one of the learning methods, where by playing but inserting learning material in the game, learning while playing really needs to be done by the teacher in order to innovate existing learning, because sometimes students feel bored with learning that is too monotonous or students feel bored with learning that the teacher has never innovated. Based on this, there are two problems that become the main study in this study, namely: first how the teacher applies the discovery model in English subjects in class XII MA Babus salam Sampang, second what active learning is built with the discovery model in the teaching and learning process in class XII MA Babus greetings Sampang. The results of this study the teacher was able to apply the discovery model by giving knowledge to students through several methods including reca fast, riddle, and learning through play. So that the teacher can easily activate the class and can make students more active. In addition, students are able to follow and participate in the method. For example, when the teacher gives group assignments and is asked to come forward to explain in front, there are also teachers controlling students when the teacher gives assignments in class. Especially during the pandemic, education really needs innovation to build creative digital learning methods. Where the media is an alternative to education, there are many games that every teacher can apply in online learning, apart from avoiding boredom for students, this can also make them more communicative in the learning process. That's why it's important for every school to hold training for every teacher to improve the learning system during the pandemic.
