Abstract

Keyword: Demonstration Method, Speaking Skills The demonstration method is the method used by the twelfth grade teacher at MA Al-Amien Tegal Prenduan in the teaching process. The use of this method is to determine students' speaking skills in learning English and to understand English learning. So that the implementation of this method can help students learn more easily in the classroom and also be able to collaborate with their classmates regarding learning. Based on this, there are two problems that become the main study in this research, namely: first, how teacher applies the demonstration method in teaching English speaking skills at twelve grade students of MA Al-Amien Tegal Prenduan, secondly what are the advantages and disadvantages of the demonstration method in teaching English speaking skills at twelve grade students of MA Al-Amien Tegal Prenduan. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive. The sources of data used in this study are interviews, observation and documentation. This is to know the applying of the demonstration method in teaching English speaking skills and also to know the advantages and disadvantages of the demonstration method in teaching English speaking skills at twelve grade students of MA Al-Amien Tegal Prenduan. The results of this study indicate that the application of the demonstration method in teaching activities is: first, the teacher stands in front of the students and asks students to listen to the explanation of the material, after that the teacher asks two students to apply or demonstrate the material that has been explained after that students are given time to ask questions related to the material. demonstrated by teachers and students. Second, the advantages of applying this demonstration method are: the learning process is clear and concrete, learning is easy to understand, learning is more interesting. While the disadvantages of applying the demonstration method are: Weak of the teacher concepts, there is no media, it takes a lot of time.
