Advisor: Eva Nikmatul Rabbianty, M. Pd. Key Words :Ice Breaking, What’s in My Back? Game, Young Learners, Vocabulary Mastery In learning or knowing vocabulary, young learners can get new vocabulary by doing what they loved, for example playing a game while they study, sing a song and telling story. That activity can be an alternative to get any vocabularies that they never get before. Ice Breaking is one of activity that used to solve the students boredom in teaching learning process. What’s in My Back? Game is one of game that can used as Ice Breaking that rely on sensitivity and memory in writing English vocabulary. Vocabulary is one of important thing in English to be mastered for everyone especially for young learners. Young Learners are learners in Elementary School aging 6-12 years old who are learning English as foreign language. Vocabulary mastery itself is the numbers of words students’ knows in using word of language and it is the vocabulary achievement. The researcher conducted research about the influence of ice breaking what’s in my back?On young learners’ vocabulary mastery.This research focus on the influence of ice breaking activity to young learners’ vocabulary mastery. The researcher present about the influence of ice breaking especially using what’s in my back?Game, when the teacher implement it before or after they explain the materials. Problem of study of this research is do the young learners taught by using ice breaking what’s in my back? Have better vocabulary mastery. The researcher uses Alternative Hypothesis (Ha) in which hypothesis states that there is an influence of Ice Breaking What’s in My Back?On Young learners’ vocabulary mastery at the fifth grade of SDIT Multazam Buddih Pamekasan. This research uses quantitative approach to explain the both variables. The researcher uses Experimental research design, namely Pre-Experimental design. This research include to One-Group Pretest-Posttest Designbecause the researcher using pretest and posttest as instruments to know the influence of ice breakingwhat’s in my back?On young learners’ vocabulary mastery. To analyze the data, the researcher uses “t” test. The result shows that there is an influence of Ice Breaking What’s in My Back?On Young learners’ vocabulary mastery at the fifth grade of SDIT Multazam Buddih Pamekasan.It is proved by the result of data analysis that the value of t test (2.911) is higher than tt(t table) in 5%significant level (2,23). It means that the alternative hypothesis in this research is accepted. All in all, when the young learners taught by using ice breaking influence their vocabulary mastery. Key Words :Ice Breaking, Permainan What’s in My Back?, Pembelajar Muda, Penguasaan Kosakata Dalam belajar atau mengetahui kosakata ,pelajar muda bisa mendapatkan kosakata baru dengan melakukan apa yang mereka sukai, misalnya bermain game saat mereka belajar , menyayikan lagu dan menceritakan sebuah kisah. Kegiatan itu bisa menjadi alternative untuk mendapatkan kosakata yang belum pernah mereka dapatkan sebelumnya. Ice breaking adalah salah satu kegiatan yang dapat digunakan untuk memecahkan kebosanan siswa dalam proses belajar mengajar. Permainan What’s in my back? adalah salah satu game yang dapat di gunakan sebagai ice breaking yang mengandalkan kepekaan dan memori dalam menulis kosakata bahasa inggris. Kosakata adalah salah satu hal penting dalam bahasa Inggris yang harus di kuasai oleh semua orang terutama bagi pelajar muda. Pembelajar muda adalah pelajar di sekolah dasar usia 6-12 tahun yang belajar bahasa inggris sebagai bahasa asing. Penguasaan kosa kata itu sendiri adalah jumlah kata yang diketahui siswa dalam menggunakan kata-kata bahasa dan itu adalah pencapaian kosakata. Peneliti melakukan penelitian tentang pengaruh ice breaking what’s in my back?Terhadap penguasaan kosakata pelajar muda. Penelitian ini fokus pada pengaruh aktivitas ice breaking terhadap penguasaan kosakata pembelajar muda.Peneliti menjelaskan tentang pengaruh ice breaking what’s in my back?ketika guru menerapkannya sebelum atau setelah mereka menjelaskan materi.Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah para pembelajar muda yang diajarkan menggunakan ice breaking what’s in my back?Memiliki penguasaan kosakata yang lebih baik. Peneliti menggunakan Alternatif Hipotesis (Ha) dimana hipotesis ini menyatakan bahwa ada pengaruh ice breaking What’s in My Back?terhadap penguasaan kosakata pembelajar muda di kelas lima SDIT Multazam Buddih pamekasan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif untuk menjelaskan kedua variable tersebut.Peneliti menggunakan desain penelitian Eksperimental, yaitu desain Pre-eksperimental.Penelitian ini termasuk dalam One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design karena peneliti menggunakan pretest dan posttest sebagai instrument untuk mengetahui pengaruh ice breaking what’s in my back?terhadap penguasaan kosakata pembelajar muda. Untuk menganalisis data, peneliti menggunakan tes”t”. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh Ice Breaking What in My Back?terhadap penguasaan kosakata pembelajar muda di kelas lima SDIT Multazam Buddih Pamekasan. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil analisis data bahwa nilai uji t (2,911) lebih tinggi dari tt (t tabel) pada taraf signifikan 5% (2,23).Dapatdiartikan bahwa alternative hipotesis dalam penelitian ini diterima dan ketika pelajar muda diajarkan dengan menggunakan ice breaking,mempengaruhi penguasaan kosa kata mereka.
