Abstract

v ABSTRACT Mila Putri Sakila, 2020, The Use of Song Lyric as Media in Teaching Irregular Verb at Seventh Grade of Junior High School 2 Palengaan. Ungraduated, Thesis, Tarbiyah Faculty, English Teaching Learning Program (TBI), The State Islamic Institute of Madura (IAIN) Madura. Advisor: Drs. H. Mosleh Habibullah, M.Pd. Keyword: The song lyric, media and irregular verb Media is a thing that can bring and give information, with media they can express their knowledge in communication between teacher and student and also can make the student easy to study. So that the researcher wants to measure the advantage and disadvantage use song lyric in teaching irregular verb. Irregular verb is one of important skill in studying foreign language, but students usually difficult to distinguish past and participle and also have difficulties to convey their opinion. There are three research focuses in this study. The first, how does the teacher use song lyric as media in teaching irregular verb, the second, what are the advantage using song lyric as media in teaching irregular verb and the third, what are the disadvantage using song lyric as media in teaching irregular verb. This research used qualitative approach and used descriptive research as kind of research. The data got from the result observation, interview and documentation. The informants are the English teacher and the students at the seventh grade of junior high school 2 Palengaan. And then the researcher analyzes with display and verification. In addition, to get the validity of data the researcher uses triangulation source. The result showed that the teacher use song lyric as media in teaching irregular verb at seventh grade of junior high school 2 Palengaan. Then the advantage use song lyric in teaching irregular verb at seventh grade of junior high school 2 Palengaan, can make the students easy to study, easy to understand the material, fun and not bored to study. And also the disadvantage is the students dit not know to imitate the pronounce well what the teacher said in English, the students get not many irregular verb in the song lyric. Based on the result above, it is suggested for English teacher to understand the students condition in the classroom, prepare the teaching material appropriately , apply the interesting strategies for students, and always give motivation to the students increase their skill especially in teaching irregular verb. vi ABSTRAK Mila Putri Sakila, 2019, Penggunaan Lirik Lagu Dalam Pembelajaran Irregular Verb di Kelas Tujuh Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negri 2 Palengaan. Skripsi, Program Study Bahasa Inggris (TBI), Jurusan Tarbiyah, pembimbing: Drs. H. Mosleh Habibullah, M.Pd. Kata Kunci: Lirik lagu, media dan kata kerja tidak beraturan Media adalah hal yang bisa dan memberikan informasi, dengan media mereka bisa mengungkapkan pengetahuannya dalam komunikasi antara guru dan siswa dan juga bisa membuat siswa mudah untuk belajar. Sehingga peneliti ingin mengukur keuntungan dan kelemahan penggunaan lirik lagu dalam pembelajaran irregular verb. Irregular verb adalah salah satu kemampuan penting dalam pembelajaran bahasa asing, tapi siswa biasanya sulit untuk membedakan verb 2 dan verb 3 dan juga sulit untuk menyampaikan opininya. Dalam penelitian ada tiga fokus masalah, pertama, bagaimana guru menggunakan lirik lagu sebagai media dalam pembelajaran kata kerja tidak beraturan di kelas tujuh sekolah menengah pertama Negeri 2 Palengaan, kedua, apa saja kelebihan menggunakan lirik lagu sebagai media dalam pembelajaran kata kerja tak beraturan dan yang ketiga adalah apa saja kelemahan menggunakan lirik lagu sebagai media dalam pembelajaran kata kerja tidak beraturan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan jenis penelitiannya adalah descriptif. Yang mana data itu diperoleh dari hasil observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan informan-informannya yaitu guru dan siswa di kelas tujuh sekolah menengah pertama negeri 2 Palengaan. Peneliti kemudian menganalisnya dengan penunjukan dan pembuktian. Disamping itu, untuk mendapatkan keabsahan suatu data, peneliti menggunakan sumber trin Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan tentang bagaimana guru menggunakan lirik lagu dalam pembelajaran kata kerja tidak beraturan di sekolah menengah pertama Negeri 2 Palengaan. Kemudian keuntungan mengunakan lirik lagu di sekolah menengah pertama Negeri 2 Palengaan, bisa membuat siswa mudah untuk belajar, materinya mudah untuk dimengerti, menyenangkan dan tidak bosan untuk belajar. Kemudian kelemahan siswa tidak tau mengucapkan dengan baik apa yang guru katakan dalam bahasa inggris, kemudian siswa tidak memperoleh kata kerja tidak beraturan dalam lirik lagu. Berdasarkan hasil diatas, disarankan Kepada guru bahasa inggris untuk mengerti kondisi siswa didalam kelas, mempersiapkan materi ajar yang tepat, menerapkan strategi-sttrategi menarik untuk siswanya dan selalu memberikan motivasi kepada siswa untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mereka terutama dalam pembelajaran kata kerja tidak beraturan (irregular verb). vii
