Abstract

Key Word: Teacher’s Stimulating Questions, Cognitive Domain of Blooms Taxonomy In the English Learning Teaching Program, there are several Lectures who use stimulating questions, the lecturers provide several question that are given at the beginning of the learning process to remind them of the previous lesson. the teacher gives several stimulating question in the form of oral and writting questions to the students’. The aim is to stimulate students’ thinking to be more critical and creative, to creat a conducive classroom atmosphere and to gain deep understanding of learning from the lecturers. The analysis of Teacher’s Stimulating Questions that researchers conducted on lecturers who used a stimulating questions strategy in the English teaching learning program at IAIN Madura based on the Cognitive domain of Blooms Taxonomy. This research is structured with two research focus, the first, what kind of questions are found in lecturers Stimulating Questions in English Teaching Learning Program at IAIN Madura based on Cognitive Domain of Blomms Taxonomy? and the second is how does the lecturers give Stimulating Questions to the students’in English teaching learning program at IAIN Madura based on Cognitive domain of blooms taxonomy? In this research, the researcher used qualitative approach in order the result from this research can benefit for the researcher, English teacher in english teaching learning program at IAIN Madura and for the students in English teaching program at IAIN Madura. While the kind of this research is used field research and this research is used deskriptif method, because the researchers described and explained what kinds of stimulating questions were obtained from the results of research conducted in the English teaching learning program based on Cognitive Domain of Blooms Taxonomy and described how the lecturers gave several stimulating questions to the students in the class during teaching and learning process. While, the technique is data collection, researchers used techniques interview, observation, documentation, the next step is data analysis, in this case the researchers compiled data systematically obtained from the results of interviews and observations in class during teaching and learning process. Based on the results of the study, the types of questions that given by several lecturers based on the cognitive domain of blooms Taxonomy English teaching learning program at IAIN Madura which used a stimulating question strategy contained C1 has 9 Questions, C2 has 5 Questions, C3 has 2 Questions, C5 has 3 Questions, C6 has 3 Questions. The way or implementation used by several lecturers who use the stimulating question strategy is different based on the way the lecturer asks questions in the class and the timing of the questions given by the lecturer in the stimulating Questions strategy
