Abstract
Keyword: Islamic Tolerance, Movie Silence, KH. Abdurrahman Wahid ( Gus Dur ) Perception. Research problems are something that will be studied in the research.This research is about the study on Islamic Tolerance Value on Movie “Silence”. So, the research problems are formulated as follows: “What are the Islamic Tolerance Values found on Movie Of “Silence” ? “This research uses the type of library research or library research, namely research whose data is obtained from literature studies or related literature, library research is research whose data collection techniques are carried out in libraries, because libraries are an ideal place to access various sources relevant to based on readings of some literature that has information and relevance to the research topic. The latest thing that has become the subject of debate, namely about tolerance, mostly leads to religious issues, even though religion is our way to get closer to God, but the differences there are still not accepted by some people who really love and are even fanatical about their religion and slander other religions.. Therefore, the researcher raised rumors about tolerance so that it could be a way to be able to tolerate each other or it could be the beginning of world peace, namely through research on the value of tolerance contained in the movie. and also the film that is appointed tells the story of a priest who wants to spread Christianity in Japan who is actually a Shintoes. In the early days of the spread of Christianity in Japan, there were a lot of opposition from the native people who embraced the Shinto religion and most of the followers of Christianity in Japan consisted of people from below who were not active in the Japanese government at that time who had a background in Nagasaki. So that a lot of Christians in Japan were executed cruelly and even used as saibaras to find Christians in Japan and of course get gifts from the government.
