Abstract

Keywords: learning outcomes, Merdeka curriculum, English Teaching Learning Based on the interview with the English teacher, in the teaching and learning in the previous curriculum, namely the Kurikulum 2013 (K 13), teachers taught more theories according to the learning material. However, in the latest curriculum, the Merdeka curriculum, students focus more on creating projects and developing competencies according to the character of the Pancasila Student Profile. In this case it is called Project Based Learning (PBL), where the teacher provides a little theory or material, then students develop the material independently. This curriculum was inaugurated by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia and immediately received various responses from educators. There are three research focuses in this research. First, how is the English language subject learning outcomes in Merdeka curriculum at IV grade students of SDN Barurambat Kota 5 Pamekasan. Second, how is the implementation of Merdeka curriculum in English teaching learning at IV grade students of SDN Barurambat Kota 5 Pamekasan. Third, what are the roles of teachers in the Merdeka curriculum that supports the achievement of learning outcomes for IV grade students at SDN Barurambat Kota 5 Pamekasan. This research used qualitative research methods. The data is displayed in a descriptive method because it describes the phenomenon that occur at SDN Barurambat Kota 5 Pamekasan regarding student learning outcomes in the Merdeka curriculum. The subjects of this research were English teachers and fourth grade students at SDN Barurambat Kota 5 Pamekasan. Meanwhile, data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation at SDN Barurambat Kota 5 Pamekasan. The research results showed that there are two elements used by the taecher, namely the reaing reviewing element and the writing-presenting element. In this case, the teacher divides each element into two meetings. In the reading-reviewing element, the teacher used “Look and Say” and “Look and Answer” activities. So, student learning outcomes in this element have been achieved. In the writingpresenting element, there are two activities in the module, namely “Look and Match” and “Look and Write”. However, the teacher only used the “Look and Match” activity, even though this activity corresponds to the reading-reviewing element. So, student learning outcomes in the writing-presenting element have not been achieved.
