Abstract
Keywords: Audio Lingual Method, Vocabulary Teaching is the process of transferring knowledge, skill or attitude. Teaching vocabulary to children will be success when the teacher choose the suitable technique when the teacher their students. Therefore, a teacher at Mts. Darut Thalibin 2022-2023, Dusun Pandian, Desa Ponteh, Kecamatan Galis. Kabupaten Pamekasan use audio lingual method in teaching vocabulary of seventh grade students. In this research there are two research focuses. They are how the teacher uses audio lingual method in teaching vocabulary at the seventh grade of students Mts. Darut Thalibin 2022-2023, Dusun Pandian, Desa Ponteh, Galis, Kabupaten Pamekasan and what the advantages and disadvantages of audio lingual method in teaching vocabulary at the seventh grade of students Mts. Darut Thalibin 2022- 2023, Dusun Pandian, Desa Ponteh, Galis, Kabupaten Pamekasan. In this research, the research uses qualitative approach, while kind of research, the research uses descriptive research. Because it is intended to describe how the teacher uses audio lingual method in teaching vocabulary and the advantages and disadvantages of audio lingual method at the seventh grade of students Mts. Darut Thalibin 2022-2023, Dusun Pandian, Desa Ponteh, Galis, Kabupaten Pamekasan. The research finding of the teaching vocabulary by using audio lingual method at the seventh grade of students MTs. Darut Thalibin 2022-2023, Dusun Pandian, Desa Ponteh, Galis, Kabupaten Pamekasan runs well because the steps has been done by teacher in teaching and learning process, it means that by using audio lingual method the students are able to pronounce vocabulary well because the teacher using keywords in order that the students can find the vocabulary that has correlation with the keywords. So that students easier to arrange the words. There are tree advantages of audio lingual method are students can pronounce vocabulary well, students can speak well, students can listen to the correct vocabulary, while the disadvantages of audio lingual method is students should be able to have much vocabulary. Finally, this research is expected to be useful for the reader and the researcher in the future. The author hopes teaching vocabulary using the audiolingual method will increase student’s enthusiasm in learning English. Which in the end is expected to motivate teachers to use the audio-lingual method in their classes, especially when teaching vocabulary to first year junior high school students
