Abstract
Key Words : The Golden Star Fruit Tree, Teaching Reading , Short Story English is very important for society because English is an international language for communicating with other people, because the most important language that is highly recommended to be studied in our country is English, to make it easier for students to speak intelligent English, We have to learn through several media such as dictionaries, books, magazines or short stories. This time the researcher will examine English short stories in Teaching Reading by Using Short story The Golden Star Fruit Tree for 9th Grade Students of MTSN 1 Sampang. In this case the Researcher only focuses on the Short story The Golden Star Fruit Tree as a tool for teaching English to grade 9 students at MTSN 1 Sampang. The aim of this research is to describe Teaching reading by using Short story The Golden Star Fruit Tree of MTSN 1 Sampang, and to find out the benefits of using Short story The Golden Star Fruit Tree for 9th Grade students of MTSN 1 Sampang. This research used a qualitative approach, The aim of qualitative approach was to understand context conditions by directing detailed and in depth descriptions, of portraits of conditions in natural contexts about what actually happens according to what is in the field, Researcher also used descriptive research because this research will explain How does the teacher teaching reading by using Short story The Golden Star Fruit Tree for grade 9th Grade students of MTSN 1 Sampang, and What are the benefits by using Short story The Golden Star Fruit Tree for 9th Grade students of MTSN 1 Sampang. The results of This Research was showed that, after the Teacher Teaching Reading by using Short story The Golden Star Fruit Tree, the students were able to expand their English vocabulary through the introduction of new words and phrases according to the context of the story, and the students were able to understand the benefits of short story The Golden Star Fruit Tree, namely as a means of , entertainment, moral values, imagination and creativity, language development, and cultural awareness.
