Abstract

Keywords : tourism, ESP, speaking skill ESP (English for specific purposes) is English language learning that focuses on a particular field according to the needs of students. Tourism English ESP learning is English language learning where the English in question is more directed or related to tourism. Tourism learning is a lesson that requires speaking skills because as tour guides we must be able to communicate well with guests using either English or Indonesian. The problem of this research is at one point, namely Implementation ESP learning on English language skills for tourism at vocational high school 3 pamekasan. This problem focuses on ESP learning on students’ English speaking skill. Researchers used a qualitative approach with descriptive research type. Data obtained from interviews, observations and documentation. The informants for this research were teachers and students majoring in hospitality class 10 where tourism ESP learning was applied. Based on the results of research on tourism ESP learning on the ability to speak English for tourism, tourism ESP learning for class 10 is more about terms related to the tourism industry and basic material about tourism, and the results of practice that researchers can f ind are public speaking or speaking skills. The students’ English here can still be said to be not good. Students feel less confident confident and afraid of making mistakes when they want to speak English because basically students are not taught to speak English in grade 10 so it can be said that it is normal if they don’t speak English very well. However, the students speak Indonesian well and show their ability to communicate.
