Abstract
Keywords: Instagram, English Caption, Writing Skills. Instagram is one of the most popular social media and is one of the favorite platforms for all generations. Instagram can also used by teachers at several educational levels, especially in teaching writing with the use of captions. In wrting English captions, there are several students who use instagram to improve their writing sills uisng captions, so this can be a tool to develop their writing skills. The main issues are then explained in several ways substance, namely: 1) How do the English Department Students use English Captions to the develop the writing skills on instagram. 2) What obstacles do English students face when writing English Captions on instagram. This research uses a type of field research using qualitative descriptive. Location this research was conducted on English DepartMENT Students at IAIN Madura, where the data source are primary and secondarry with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation to students who use English captions on Instagram. The data obtained are explained and describe throughly using comparative deductive analysis. The results of this research that: using instagram platform to develop writing skills using English captions can be a tool to improve writing skills, wrting captions is not only to look cool, but can develop our wrting skills by adding new vocabulary, getting feedback from readers or the followers when the grammar is wrong, and increases his confidence to publishing the writing. So the use of captions on instagram gets positive feedback from users who want to develop their writing skills
