Abstract

Morphology is a branch of linguistic that is learned about the structure of word and the process of word formed. The process in morphology is called word formation. This theory related with phenomenon today. Youth often used the slang word when communicate with others. This slang words can be adopted from the social media or Hollywood movie. There are many Hollywood movies that used slang word in it. Billy Elliot movie is one of movie that used the slang word. The researcher formulates two research focuses in this research, How are the slang words that found on Billy Elliot movie? and How are the word formation processes of slang word on Billy Elliot movie?. So, the research objectives this research to describe the slang words that found on Billy Elliot movie and to describe the word formation processes of slang word on Billy Elliot movie. In this research, the researcher use qualitative research approach especially descriptive research. The data source of this research is slang words that found on Billy Elliot movie. The researcher also uses documentations to get the data. The result of this research show that there are many slang words used by characters on Billy Elliot movie. The researcher finds twenty two English slang words as the data that involved to the word formation process, they are nob head, dickhead, divvy, nutter, shove off, poof, poofs, pissed, piss of, nerve racking, liberace, twat, wanker, crap, bloody, bollocks, greavisy, fat chance, fuck off, fanny, nana and crummy. And word formation processes that occur on those slangs are: compounding, inflection, derivation, coinage, borrowing, clipping and multiple processes. Based on the result above, the researcher suggests the future researcher to continue this research by investigating word formation of slang language in other objectives, such as magazines, news, and poetry. Morfologi merupakan cabang ilmu linguistik yang menjelaskan tentang struktur kata dan proses bagaimana sebuah kata terbentuk. Proses di morfologi inilah yang disebut dengan proses pembentukan kata. Teori tersebut relevan dengan keadaan saat ini di mana anak muda sering menggunakan bahasa gaul ketika berkomunikasi dengan orang lain. Kata gaul tersebut bisa didapat dari sosial media, atau film-film barat yang di dalamnya terdapat bahasa-bahasa gaul. Billy Elliot merupakan salah satu film barat yang di dalamnya banyak ditemukan bahasa-bahasa gaul yang digunakan oleh para pemain film tersebut. Peneliti memformulasikan dua fokus masalah dalam penelitian ini, Bagaimana bahasa-bahasa gaul yang terdapat pada film Billy Elliot? dan Bagaimana proses pembentukan kata dari bahasa- bahasa gaul yang terdapat pada film Billy Elliot? Sehingga tujuan dari fokus masalah tersebut adalah untuk mendeskripsikan bahasa-bahasa gaul yang terdapat pada film Billy Elliot dan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana proses pembentukan bahasa-bahasa gaul pada film Billy Elliot. Pada penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan kualitatif sebagai pendekatan penelitian, khususnya penelitian deskriptif. Sumber data dari penelitian ini adalah bahasa-bahasa gaul yang terdapat pada film Billy Elliot. Peneliti juga menggunakan dokumentasi untuk mendapatkan data. Hasil dari analisis data menunjukkan bahwa ada banyak bahasa-bahasa gaul yang digunakan oleh pemain film Billy Elliot. Peneliti menemukan dua puluh dua bahasa gaul dalam bentuk bahasa inggris sebagai data yang termasuk ke dalam proses pembentukan kata, antara lain sebagai berikut: nob head, dickhead, divvy, nutter, shove off, poof, poofs, pissed, piss of, nerve racking, liberace, twat, wanker, crap, bloody, bollocks, greavisy, fat chance, fuck off, fanny, nana and crummy. Dan ada enam proses pembentukan kata yang terjadi pada bahasa gaul tersebut, yaitu percampuran, infleksi, derivisi, pembuatan kata-kata baru, peminjaman, pemotongan dan proses campuran. Berdasarkan hasil di atas, peneliti menyarankan kepada peneliti-peneliti selanjutnya untuk meneliti proses pembentukan kata pada objek yang berbeda seperti majalah, koran, dan puisi.
