Abstract
Keyword: Grammar, Method, Inquiry In teaching learning process, the teacher has many ways to make students comfortable in the class. One of the ways that to use by the teacher in the classroom is a good method. And the teacher can use an inquiry as a method in teaching learning process, because inquiry is a method that can make the students not bored in the class, so this method is suitable to teach by the teacher in teaching grammar because mos of students feel bored in grammar class. There are two reserach focuses in this research. The first is how does the teacher implementation of inquiry method in teaching grammar mastery for tenth grade at SMA Ma’arif 1 Pamekasan, and the last is what are advantages and disadvantages of inquiry method in teaching grammar mastery for tenth grade at SMA Ma’arif 1 Pamekasan. The research use a descriptive qualitative approach. To get the data researcher use structured interviews like as interview, observation, and documentation. This research use qualitative research, that to collect the data from observation, interview, and documentation. From the data collected, the researcher can know implementation of inquiry method in teaching grammar mastery for tenth grade at SMA Ma’arif 1 Pamekasan. The result of this research, implementation of inquiry method in teaching grammar mastery for the tenth grade at SMA Ma’arif 1 Pamekasan, in teaching process the teacher use any procedures in teaching grammar by inquiry method such as the teacher to train creativity on students to solve the problem in grammar class and the teacher be able to teach students more interest and independent in teaching process in the classroom. And on the other hand, the advantage to students is to make students are more active in the classroom and can increase the motivation and engagement of the students. On the other side, the disadvantage that gets from the teacher is the teacher has to do repeat explanation in more detail at the last meeting to remember the material and the teacher can not be controlled to answer directly. So that at the last meeting, the teacher had to explain in more detail to make sure the students really understood. For students, the disadvantage is the students take much time in the teaching-learning process, and also, sometimes make the students feel bored and get difficulty in learning grammar mastery in the classroom.
