Abstract

Key words:reading comprehension, writing, summary Reading is an activity which is done infinitely. It’s can do in everywhere and anywhere you want. Therefore, reading has been studied since when you are in elementary school even younger than that. The main aim of reading is not only able in it but also comprehend it. In order, you will have new knowledge, theory, ide and able to find main idea of text in a story. Eg: you are able to summarize a story text. The aim of this research is to know whether or not students who always write summary the better their reading comprehension at Raudatus Saadah and to know the significance of both variable. The researcher uses alternative hypothesis on this research. Alternative means there is effect between student write summary and students’ reading comprehension at Raudatus Saadah Kapedi. The research method that used in this research is quantitative approach whereas design on this research is experimental design. This research has two variables: writing summary (Variable X) and students’ reading comprehension (Variable Y). The population is this research is all students’ 3rd Grade Junior School at Raudatus Saadah. Because the population is less than 10 the researcher take all students’ as the sample of this research. There is on instrument of this research. There is on instrument of this research it is test by taking pre- test and post- test. The result of this research that analyze from statistical analysis showed that there is effect between students’ writing summary and student reading comprehension at Raudatus Saadah Junior high school. it evidenced by comparing the t-test and ttable. While the t-test= 3.001 and t-table=2,26. The significant level of this research is (300,1%). Therefore, null hypothesis is rejected and alternative hypothesis is accepted. Based on the result above, the researcher’s suggestion for teachers of Raudatus Saadah Junior high school is using summary writing as media for reading is good enough in increasing students’ reading comprehension.
