Abstract

Key Note : Students’ Response, Teacher Strategies, Teaching Speaking This study aims to know the teachers’ strategies in teaching speaking and how about students’ response on teacher strategies in teaching speaking. Teacher strategies in teaching speaking is the method that teacher use to improve students speaking skill. And students response is an interactive communication that allow formative assignment by enabling the teacher to pose question and receive students' answer immediately. In this thesis, the researcher uses the sample of students at seventh grade of SMPN 2 Larangan.The researcher researches about students’ response by interview of the subject. The focus of the study is what is the teacher strategies in teaching speaking at seventh grade of SMPN 2 Larangan and how is the students’ response on teacher strategies in teaching speaking at seventh grade of SMPN 2 Larangan. Then, the objective of this research is to analyze the teacher strategies in teaching speaking at seventh grade of SMPN 2 Larangan and analyze the students’ response on teacher strategies in teaching speaking at seventh grade of SMPN 2 Larangan. The approach of this study is qualitative approach. The kind of this research is field research. The data is taken from angket. Then, the researcher collects the data through the observation, inetrview and documentation. The result of this research is there are two strategies in teaching speaking at seventh grade of SMPN 2 Larangan. They are role play and language game.Those are helpful to make students understand and easier practice speaking english. The students pretend to talk is increase and helping students pronouncing clearly. And the students’ response on strategies bellow are enjoy, easy to catching the materi and interesting. The suggestion of this research is maked sure before using these strategies teacher do preparation well. Beacuse it can make the successfull in teaching and learning at the class.
