Abstract

Key word: BTS’ Song and Student English Achievement Education is very important nowadays. Education is closely related to science because through education, we get knowledge. Nowadays it is very easy to study, futhermore the development of technology that can help us in studying. From the first in education, there have been the medium to help in explaining a science or lesson which we often call 'media'. There are several kinds of media such as visual media (eg: pictures/photos), audio (eg: songs), audio-visuals (eg: television). English achievement is the ability to master all skills in English. The researcher wants to conduct this research because some people especially teenagers in this era like Korean boybands, especially BTS. So the researcher wants to know about the effect of a song especially a BTS song on students' English achievement. There are 2 research problems in this research. First, do the students have higher achievement after taught by using BTS’ song as listening media, and secondly, how is the significant effect of using BTS’ song as listening media to 10th graders of SMAN 3 Pamekasan. Meanwhile, the purpose of this study are to know whether the students have higher achievement after taught by using BTS’ song as listening media or not and to measure the significant effect of using BTS’ song as a listening media for 10th graders of SMAN 3 Pamekasan. This research uses quantitative research. And using the experimental method especially one group pretest-posttest. The process of collecting data in this study uses tests. The test is divided into two, namely the pretest and the posttest. The results of this study indicate that there is an effect of using a song as listening media, this is proven from the results of the average posttest score greater than the pretest score of 85>60. And with these results, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected.
