Abstract
Keywords: Students’ difficulties, Video Assignment, English Teaching Media Assignments are something that is always there in the learning process. There are many kinds of assignments with different instructions, one of which is video assignment. Video assignment has become frequently used since the COVID-19 pandemic, both in online learning systems and blended learning systems. The level of difficulty in each assignment given by the lecturer is different and also depends on the ability of each student. However, it is very common when in doing assignment, students experience difficulties. One of the 5th semester English courses at IAIN Madura is English Teaching Media. In the 2021/2022 academic year, an English teaching media lecturer once gave students video assignments. From there, the researchers finally conducted a study that aimed to find out what are students' difficulties on making video assignments in English teaching media blended learning at the 5th semester of TBI IAIN Madura academic year 2021/2022. There are three research focuses in this research which are the research on what are students’ difficulties and the factors, how they solve it, and what are students’ opinions on making video assignments in English Teaching blended learning. The researcher uses qualitative research with descriptive research method. The reseracher uses data collection techniques in the form of interviews and documentation in this research. The interview conducted both direct and online. And the subject of the research is twenty students of 5th semester of English Teaching Learning Program (TBI) at IAIN Madura academic year 2021/2022. The results showed that students’ difficulties on making video assignments in English teaching media are difficulty regarding to the script, difficulty caused by time, difficulty caused by the environment, difficulty in preparing media, difficulty caused by device to record the video, difficulty when recording and editing videos, and difficulty caused by internet connection. One of the biggest factors that cause students to experience difficulties is because of internal factors that come from the students themselves. And they solve it mostly by themselves like to keep pushed themselves until they can pass their difficulties, until they solved it by asked for help to their friends or relatives. While students’ opinions on making video assignments in English teaching media such as opinions seen from the benefits of video of video assignments for creativity, for speaking skills and vocabulary mastery, for the application of the theory, and for knowing more about learning media. There are also opinions that seen from the timing of the video assignments given and seen from the level of the difficulty of the video assignments.
