Abstract

Key words: Teaching-learning Activities, English Song, Teaching Vocabulary. Song could be good source for English class. Song could attract students’ attention, create fun learning and also almost everyone likes song, beside that song could be used according to what student and teacher need. The teacher at eight grade of Madrasah Ummul Quro at-Tarbawiyah Putri uses original song in teaching English vocabulary. It means many English vocabularies made a song to make the students easier in learning English. The class of vocabulary is one of the programs at eighth grade of Madrasah Ummul Quro at-Tarbawiyah Putri conducted in every week. It is on every friday at 4.pm-5.pm. This study aimed to know how the teacher teaches vocabulary at eighth grade of Madrasah Ummul Quro at-Tarbawiyah Putri Plakpak Pegantenan Pamekasan which applies original song, and what the advantages and disadvantages of using original song in teaching English vocabulary. This research was conducted at eighth grade of Madrasah Ummul Quro at�Tarbawiyah Putri Plakpak Pegantenan Pamekasan. The researcher used qualitative research to conducting research is based on the philosophy that truth is obtained from how to capture the symptoms (phenomena) of the object to be studied. While the kind of research used by the researcher is study case. The goal is to arrive at detailed description and understanding of the entity (the case). The procedure used in collecting data in this study are interview, observation and documentation. The result of this study showed that the teacher and students at eighth grade of Madrasah Ummul Quro at-Tarbawiyah Putri have good impact in teaching learning vocabulary through English original song. It can be seen from the results of the research. From the interview with the teacher and the students, they told that original song is a good media in teaching English vocabulary. It helps the teacher in teaching learning activities to make the students exited and interested to the material. It can make the class more active and the students exited and enjoyed the teaching learning activities. It can be concluded that English original song has many benefits for student at eighth grade of Madrasah Ummul Quro at-Tarbawiyah Putri Plakpak Pegantenan Pamekasan
