Abstract
Keyword: English Teacher Perception, Online Learning In the online learning process, it is required to master technology, technology development are a challenge for teacher. Therefore teachers are required to be able to be more positive and creative in make use of it. Therefore researcher want to see teacher perception on the use of online learning methods. There are two types of research focuses in this study. First, about how is the English teacher’s perception on applying of online English learning method at MAN Sampang in 2021/2022 academic year. Second, about what are the obstacles in applying of online English learning method at MAN Sampang in 2021/2022 academic year. The researcher used a qualitative approach with adescriptive kind of research. Researcher obtained data from, observation, interview and documents. The research informants were English teacher’s at MAN Sampang. Based on the result of the study, the first is about how is the English teacher’s perception on applying of online English learning method at MAN Sampang in 2021/2022 academic year. The teacher’s perception on applying online learning methods apply distance learning during the pandemic, the teacher’s apply whatsapp application because that is easy to apply. Apply the teaching learning model using via whatsapp there are features of photos, videos, documents, group whatsapp and call directly. The first teacher created the group, open teaching learning process via voice note or chat and share the RPP via document. The teacher coordinate students such as about assignments, giving teaching material, confirming assignments and discussing together. The benefits apply whatsapp in teaching learning process by the teachers perception is whatsapp as a media online learning is easy and not complicated like on the applications. Whatsapp is a friendly media beside being cheap and easy to use accessible by anyone, whatsapp also has various features that dance also help the students in the process. The second, about what are the obstacles in applying of online English learning method at MAN Sampang in 2021/2022 academic year. There are some obstacles in applying the online English learning method at MAN Sampang such as signal interference, mobile phone memory is full, lack of interaction, it is difficult to know the seriousness of students, student motivation and online learning support facilities
