Abstract
Keywords: Teaching Media, WPS, Writing Word Processing Software (WPS) application is a software program specifically designed to facilitate the process of writing, editing and managing text documents. This application includes various features that support users in creating and formatting documents easily. Examples of WPS applications include Microsoft Word, Google Docs, and similar applications. In educational setting, this application is used as media to help students learn English, especially in writing. Writing is an activity to produce or draw graphic symbols which represent a language that is understood by people, it can be practiced by using WPS feature as media. Related to this, the researcher is interested in conducting research on the use of the WPS, because this topic is very interesting in teaching Students’ writing skill at the third grade of MTS Al-Amien Branta Pesisir. This study aims to describe how the use of the WPS in teaching Students’ writing skill at the third grade of MTS Al-Amien Branta Pesisir, as well as to find out the students’ responses of using this media. This research is a qualitative study using a descriptive approach. The data collection process was carried out using observation, interviews, and documentation methods. Then the data was processed and tested for validity using source triangulation techniques. The data was then analyzed qualitatively through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the English teacher use the WPS application to ask students create story texts in English, guided by the teacher's instructions. This method not only streamlines the writing process but also allows for immediate feedback and correction from the teacher that used in the learning process. There are three responses of the WPS in writing learning, namely response based on senses, response based on occurrence, response based on environment.
