Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the types of error, the dominant error and the factor of error that made by the members of Fun English Club on essay writing The researcher used qualitative research method. The data was collected from the students writing task. The first step to analyzed the data is identification of the errors, the second is classification of errors, the third is tabulation of errors, an the last is explanation of errors. The result of this research presented that there are 3 types of error, they are omission, addition, and misformation. The dominant error is miss formation errors which total errors are 20 (55.55%), the second is addition error which the total errors are 14 (38.88%). The third is omission error which total errors are 2 (5.55%). The last is error misordering which total error is 0 (0%). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis kesalahan yang dominan dan faktor kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh anggota Fun English Club pada penulisan esai. Peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di IAIN Madura Kab.pamekasan. Peneliti mengambil dua puluh anggota untuk dianalisis. Data dikumpulkan dari tugas menulis siswa. Langkah pertama untuk menganalisis data adalah identifikasi kesalahan, yang kedua adalah klasifikasi kesalahan, yang ketiga adalah tabulasi kesalahan, dan yang terakhir adalah penjelasan kesalahan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada 3 jenis kesalahan, yaitu kelalaian, penambahan, dan salah informasi. Kesalahan dominan adalah kesalahan formasi kesalahan dengan total kesalahan 20 (55,55%), kesalahan kedua adalah penambahan yang mana total kesalahan adalah 14 (38,88%). Yang ketiga adalah kesalahan kelalaian yang total kesalahannya 2 (5,55%). Yang terakhir adalah error misordering yang total errornya 0 (0%). Kata Kunci: penulisan esai, konjungsi bawahan, kesalahan.
