Abstract

Keywords: English Week Program, Speaking Skill, Students. Speaking skill is a very important aspects to be learned and improved in learning English. In various educational institutions, especially in Islamic boarding schools, multilingual ability can occur if students are given the opportunity to interact with teachers and other students. The learning system in Islamic Boarding School is partly developed by implementing the habit of using English in communication as is the case at Ummul Quro As-Suyuty Islamic Boarding School. This research has two research focuses those are How is the implementation of English Week Program for male students speaking skill in seventh class at Ummul Quro Assuyuti Islamic Boarding School and What are the advantages of the English Week Program for male students speaking skill in seventh class at Ummul Quro As-Suyuty Islamic Boarding School. So that, the purpose of this study was to know about the implementation of English Week program for male students speaking skill and the advangates of joining this program. The researcher used a qualitative approach with descriptive research. The researcher also used observation, interview and documentation to collected the data that was gotten from the seventh class students at Ummul Quro As-Suyuty Islamic Boarding School as primary source. While the secondary source of this research is books, journals, and articles from previous study. The results of this research shows that the There are four implementations of English Week Program for male students speaking skill in seventh class. Those are: Students are required to speak English every day, administrators supervise and give punishment to students who violate them, muhadharah and GOEL. While The advantages of the English Week Program are students can increase self-confidence, as a means of communication, students can increase speaking and listening skills, and for preparation in the future.
