Abstract

ABSTRACT Abd. Mannan, 2016, The Curriculum of Islamic Education Perspective of Ibn Khaldūn, Thesis, Islamic study program (PAI) Master’s Degree Program (S2) Postgraduate STAIN Pameksan, Tutor: Dr. H. Zainuddin Syarif, M.Ag. and Dr. Siswanto, M.Pd.I. Keyword: Curriculum, Islamic Education, Perspective, Ibn Khaldūn. Ibn Khaldūn is one of figures of islamic thinker who had a major influence in the development of science. Ibn Khaldūn is more widely known as an historian and social. However, he also deserve to be called as the figure of islamic education. This can be evidenced in Muqaddimah book which not only discussed the study of history and siciology..., but also studied the problem of education. In fact, it is nearly a third of the book Muqaddimah discussed about education. The view of Ibn Khaldūn about education stands on concept and philosophicalempirical approach. Through this approach, he provided suggestion to the vision of the ideal goal of islamic education and practical. Thus, as mentioned above this research intends to offer educational concept that was formulated by Ibn Khaldūn. Which is in this research as the main problem that want to be searched for its answer is how did Ibn Khaldūn think about curriculum of Islamic education which is parsed to be an operational question in accordance with the content or curriculum component, as follows: (1) what is the educational goal of Islam acoording to Ibn Khaldūn? (2) what is the material in Islamic education process according to Ibn Khaldūn? (3) how is the method in Islamic education process of Ibn Khaldūn? This research is included in type of library research which used qualitative approach. Meanwhile technical of data collection by using documentery technique with digging data as much as possible through the primary data source and secondary data source. Further, after the required data was collected, it is followed by analyzing the data using content analysis method. From the research that the writer did, it was found a several inventions: (1) the purpose of islamic education according to Ibn Khaldūn namely: an increase of thought, social improvement, and an increase in piety and faith (2) In educational curriculum, Ibn Khaldūn clasified islamic science that must be matter in Islamic education process, namely, Naqliyah science, as like al-Qur’an, hadits, Ulum alQur’ān, ‘Ulum al-Hadīts, Ushūl al-Fiqh, Fiqh, ‘Ilm al-kalām, ‘Ilm al-Tasawuf, and ‘Ilm Ta‘bir al-Ru’yā. And also ‘aqliyah science, as like logic science (‘Ilm alManthiq), physics science (‘Ilm al-Thabī‘īyah), metaphysics science (‘Ilm alIlāhīyat) and matematic science (‘Ilm al-‘Adadīyah). (3). In education process the education method whis offered by Ibn Khaldūn, as follows: a. Memorizing b. Dialogue c. Widya-wisata d. Phasing and repetition. Be sides that Ibn Khaldūn also reveal basic principles of teaching method, namely: teaching materi from sensory to rational, specification and integration, continue in material presentation, forbidden to mix between two sciences in one time, avoiding violence to student, and do not teach science from summary result.
