Abstract
Keywords: Team Word Webbing, Reading Comprehension Reading comprehension is the process of making understanding meaning to the readers from the text or passage. In teaching learning process the teacher should be apply the best way to make the teaching reading comprehension process more interesting and the students feel enthusiastic. To make students feel enthusiastic and more interesting on reading comprehension, the researcher finds the effectiveness of using Team Word Webbing to the students’ reading comprehension of the tenth grade at Senior High School 1 Galis. Team word webbing (clustering or semantic mapping) is a powerful tool in concept development and information ex-change this technique is a that can help the students understand understanding the text in following way in constructing meaning. The students can make a group consist of 2 – 3 students in apply this technique. The research problem of this thesis is Do the students taught by using Team Word Webbing the better their Reading Comprehension of the tenth grade at Senior High School 1 Galis?. And the research objective of this research to know whether the students taught by using Team Word Webbing get the better their reading comprehension of the tenth grade at Senior High School 1 Galis or no. In this research, the researcher uses quantitative approach, while kinds of design this research is pre-experimental design. To collect the data the researcher used test and documentation. The theory uses in this research it is from Denton theory to implement a set procedures of team word webbing, these three stages are; pre-reading, during-reading, and post-reading. The result of this research found that of using Team Word Webbing to the students’ reading comprehension of the tenth grade at Senior High School 1 Galis is effective and make the better students’ reading comprehension. The researcher states that null hypothesis is rejected and alternative hypothesis is accepted. It is proven from the result of t-value is higher than t-table. T-table in 5% significance level is 2,035 with degree of freedom is 33. However, the t-value of this research is 18,23.In consulting to analysis, the data of the research t-value of this research is higher than t-table in level significant, it means that alternative hypothesis that state the students taught by using Team Word Webbing make better their reading comprehension of the tenth grade at Senior High School 1 Galis. So then the alternative hypothesis (Ha) that is used by the researcher in this research is accepted.
