Abstract

Keywords: Islamic ethical value, Movie, The Pursuit of Happyness. Every human is born in fitrah, each individual has their own set of beliefs about how to live their lives. However, their parents determine whether they are a Jew, Christian, or Muslim. Therefore, people are free to choose and embrace a religion they believe in. Islam is a religion that brings life to a close and gives it significance. There are two objectives of this study. Frist to analyze Islamic ethical value in “The Pursuit of Happyness” movie and the second to know-how do the Islamic ethical values appear on “The Pursuit of Happyness” movie. In this research, the researcher uses contain analysis method through hermeneutics approach. the technique used to collect the data consist of some procedures. The ways of collecting data observation The Pursuit of Happyness movie. Identify the dialogue and physical appearance in the film that contains Islamic ethical value. The data dealing with the purpose of the study. Data analysis is used to answer research problem or examine the hypothesis itself. The researcher uses content analysis. After analyzing the data that was taken from The Pursuit of Happyness movie, the researcher found 11 Islamic ethical values which is appeared in this movie, it can be analysed from how the characters in the movie talks, does something, and does an activity. But the most finding that the researcher found is through the dialogue of the movie than physical appearance. 11 kinds Islamic ethical values that the researcher found in the Pursuit of Happyness movie, there are bravery, consideration, experience, fairness/justice, honesty, on being knowledgeable, hard-working, patience, gratitude, responsibility and obedience. This study can be a new motivation for them who want to be have a good ethics in theirlives, for not to be a passive human. Remember how the main character in the movie who was amazing in every way. Moreover Muslim should be more amazing when he or she being knowledgeable about ethics.
