Abstract

Keywords: parents’ motivation, achievement in English subject Learning English is very important on all sides of human life. English is an international language that is often needed wherever we are. There are several factors that influence the process of learning English, namely motivation and environment. Students' who want to learn on their own will be easier to learn than students' who learn because they are told by parents'. The family is the first environment in which the child gets an education. Child’s personality is also formed first in the family environment. There are two problem statement in this study: The first, Is There any influence of parents' motivation and students' achievement in English subject At SDN Gugul 1 and the second, how significant does parents' motivation effect on students' learning achievement in english subject At SDN Gugul 1. In this study the researcher uses quantitative research method type corelation research design. In this research the population was the entire fifth grade students SDN Gugul Tlanakan academic year 2023/2024. The samples used in this study were Class V SDN Gugul 1 Tlanakan. In this research sources data from primary data and secondary data. About the instrument used test namely questionnaire parents' motivation and test Students' achievement, about treatment use documentation. Last, The data analyzed by quantitative with product moment correlation. After the researcher was done the research it can be known that the sum of parents' motivation score is 2.172 and 2.000 for students' learning achievement test. After that, from the results of data analysis that has been analyzed by researchers, it shows that there is statistical significance between parents' motivation and students' learning achievement at fifth grade of SDN Gugul 1 Tlanakan. It is proved by the result of data analysis that the value of rxy (0,386) is higher than (r table) in significant level of 5% (0,361). The analysis above, it means that alternative hypothesis in this research is accepted and the null hypothesis is rejected. It means that there is correlation between parents' motivation and students' learning achievement at fifth grade of SDN Gugul 1 Tlanakan. The result of this research is very important for For parents to improve students in learning achievement english subject. It suggested for parents Should pay more attention to their childrens needs, both physical and psychological needs.
