Abstract
Keywords: Argumentation Structure, Argumentative Essay, Essay Argumentation structure is the structure of the argumentation essay which consists of the introduction explanation of the issue, body summary of other sides argument, conclusion that is usually contain about summary of your point of you, and the topic argumentation essay discussed is about conflict. Research focus for this research is how the argumentation structure of students’ essay depicted at the fourth semester of English teaching learning program IAIN Madura. In this research conducted because the researcher found some students difficult in writing essay, may include a writing essay argumentative. So that the researcher here will analyze the results of writing argumentation structure of students’ essay of English teaching learning program in the writing 3 course, from the results of writing argumentative essays students will be used as material in this study. In this research, the researcher uses qualitative approach. In qualitative approach the researcher has data analysis techniques that is content analysis. Content analysis is a research technique for making replicable and valid inferences from texts (or other meaningful matter) to the contexts of their use. Research finding of this research that found by the researcher are 12 argumentation essays with different structures that have been obtained, collected from students at the 4th semester of writing 3. From the 4th semester of English teaching learning program IAIN Madura, only 12 essays were taken because the essay is argumentative essays and the others were expository essays and descriptive essays. From the 12 argumentative essays, only a few are correct in accordance with the theory, the correct argumentation structure includes introduction, body, conclusion and tell the issue followed by argument. From the results expected by the researchers above, it shows that many of the argumentation structure essays written by students are not appropriate. So, it is recommended to understand more about the correct and appropriate argumentation structure
