Abstract

Keyword: English, Language Day Language Day which is one of the programs held every Wednesday and Sunday with the aim that students can practice and familiarize their speaking skills. In this English day activity, students will be familiarized with daily conversations using English to improve students' speaking skills in English. The English Day program is a solution so that students have good communication skills by implementing English in daily conversations and school activities. In addition, English day is a basic activity that trains all school members to communicate in English. Where participants must speak English within the agreed time. Participants cannot use other languages during the English day. There are three types of research focuses in this study. First, how the implementation of English Language Day by Santri at the Islamic boarding school of Ummul Quro Putri Blumbungan Pamekasan, second what are the advantages of the implementation of English at Language Day by Santri at the Islamic boarding school Ummul Quro Putri Blumbungan Pamekasan and third what are the disadvantages of the implementation of English at Language Day by Santri at the Islamic boarding school Ummul Quro Putri Blumbungan Pamekasan. The researcher used a qualitative approach. The instrument use are observation, interview and documentation. Checking the validity of the data is done through triangulation. Researcher use technical and time triangulation because it requires researcher to check data from difference source using the same technique and planet time using the same method to understand the data and information. Researched obtained data from, observation, interview and documents such as photographs. The research informants were the santri at the Ummul Quro Putri Blumbungan Pamekasan Islamic boarding school Based on the research results, the finding the activity of english day program can be describe Every Wednesday and Sunday especially language section gives santri new vocabulary and memorize it, after that they are given material of correcting language.The second based on the interview with santri there are advantages of the implementation of english at Language Day, santri can speak english bravely, santri has self confidence to speak to any others without being afraid, the speaking ability had improve day by day, get new vocabulary and prepare the santri to be able to communicate globally.
